The LoveSac Review

When we moved into our house, I realized HOW BIG our new primary suite was. Besides our King-Size bed that we had recently upgraded to, I knew I for sure wanted a TV in there. Watching TV from my bed felt like such a fancy hotel move that I wanted to recreate that in my every day bedroom.

When we got our King size bed set up in the room, it still felt so HUGE and empty. The room swallowed up that big bed and was BEGGING to be used as a family room/bedroom. Knowing that Neil’s deployment was upon us, I wanted to create a space where the kids and I could all snuggle and congregate and be together. A place where they could sleep comfortably all night in my room without being IN MY BED. Ya know?

So, I got the idea for a big comfy sectional. But felt so nervous about choosing the right one.

We have bought so many different couches in our lifetime and they all failed us in some way:
IKEA - fell apart after 2 years (but the price is right)
Secondhand Leather - leather ripped within six months
West Elm Blue Velvet couch - it broke within 30 days of having it. (thankfully, they sent us a new one, but it took a lot of convincing customer service that we didn’t abuse the couch.

I’d seen the LoveSAC around and while the name makes my inner middle school girl chuckle, I figured it would be worth going into the LoveSAC showroom to check out.

Neil and I went together and sat on the couches. They were especially comfortable and very customizable as far the size that you wanted.

Ultimately, we went with an L shape that would comfortably fit 6, but 8 could easily snuggle together on it. We also added two ottomans to make it feel even more like a lounge couch/extra bed. We did the deep seats and the down blend for fill. And finally chose the Carbon Crossweave for the covers.

The couch came within 2 weeks - super quick - but it was a pain in the rear end to put together. The slip covers especially took muscle and time. And for the price that we paid for the couch ($$,$$$) I felt like the installation should have been included. It wasn’t even offered that Neil and I can remember. But three hours later, all the pieces were put together and we were testing it out.

It’s very sturdy and I think it might outlast the kids being under our roof. I also like that it’s configurable, so if we decide to move it to a different room, we can make the layout different so it’ll fit.

Overall, I wish it didn’t cost so much money, but am happy with the purchase. I think it’s going to be a couch to hold us through lots of ups and downs in life to come as we snuggle side by side together.

I also am thinking about the LoveSac Beanbags (the original LoveSac product) for the basement! Anyone have these?
